BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Our Process

Stellar actively seeks innovations within other companies and academic research centers that will enhance our capabilities and augment our therapeutic and diagnostic offerings. While our scientists and corporate development specialists are in regular contact with their peers, we encourage extramural researchers to contact us with potential opportunities.

To ensure that your opportunity receives a prompt yet comprehensive evaluation. Stellar has a three-step process.

First, our VP of Intellectual Property Management conducts an initial evaluation of the non-confidential data you provide. Next, an integrated evaluation team examines confidential data in detail. This team may include members of your staff as well as our specialists and representatives from research, manufacturing, preclinical and clinical development, sales and marketing, management and legal, as appropriate. Finally, our President, Executive VP, Science & Technology and Executive VP, Business Development & Finance co-lead due diligence efforts, along with the negotiation of licensing or joint venture/joint research terms.

This team is empowered to make decisions quickly and will work with you and your team to determine how well our combined resources might further your project or technology. This approach enables us to collaborate very effectively with our partners. It also ensures that, together, we can complete our transaction in the shortest possible time and start the important work of moving a formula or technology toward commercialization or incorporating the new technology into our R&D efforts or existing products.

Stellar is quite flexible in its approach to partnering. Our alliances have been structured on a case-by-case basis. We have the ability to partner through equity investments, milestone/royalty payments and research collaborations.

Product Candidates

Typically, when Stellar evaluates an opportunity, we look for the foll

  • A well-validated target
  • A novel mechanism of action
  • Well-characterized pharmaceutical properties
  • Strong preclinical or clinical data
  • A strong intellectual property position

Further, the ideal candidate should have the potential to significantly improve patients' lives by filling an unmet medical need, or potentially significantly reducing costs.
